Frédéric Prinz von Anhalt (born June 18, 1943 in Kreuznach, Germany) is a German-American businessman known as the last husband and widower of Zsa Zsa Gabor. In 1980 he took his new name after the daughter of Marie-August from Anhalt adopted him as an adult.
Early life
Hans Lichtenberg was born in Kreuznach in Rhineland as one of five children. His parents are Ferdinand and Barbara Lichtenberg. Prince Von Anhalt claimed that his father was a police chief in Frankfurt. He was trained as a baker and worked in the central market hall, then he managed several sauna clubs in the Württemberg region.
Highlights
On February 16, 2010, Prince Anhalt announced his nomination to the Governor of California, who nominated himself as an independent candidate against Meg Whitman and Jerry Brown in 2010. He retired on August 2, 2010, quoting his wife’s health issues. In October 2011, he announced his nomination for Mayor Los Angeles in the 2013 election. He answered on a large billboard at Sunset Boulevard. He did not take part in this campaign and did not appear in the ballot papers. Prince of Anhalt expressed his support for Donald Trump in several German interviews and television performances. On September 18, 2017, the Prince of Anhalt announced his nomination for the Governor of California, this time in the 2018 election.
Putri Zsa Zsa Gabor, the late Francesca Hilton, claimed that Prince Anhalt questioned his mother’s dignity, safety and health to get attention and profit. Hilton argued that Prince Anhalt forbade Gabor to have visitors, including his own daughter.
